The Meet Down on Number 7 returns to Colwick this October for its 10th edition.

Organised by Vintage Lorry and once again held at County Truck Services on Private Road No. 7, the event brings together an eclectic collection of classic, vintage and preserved commercial vehicles for a relaxed Sunday morning meet. There are no concours judges and no need for polished show queens – the idea has always been simple: bring the lorries together, meet old friends, make some new ones and enjoy the vehicles. Expect everything from beautifully restored classics to working lorries, survivors and machines that have spent a lifetime earning their keep. Our last meet in April produced our biggest turnout yet, with 63 lorries attending, beating the previous record of 54. For the 10th edition, we're hoping to see another fantastic variety of vehicles make their way down Number 7. Bringing a Lorry? Classic and vintage commercial vehicles are the reason the Meet exists, so if you've got something tucked away in the shed, still working for a living or freshly restored, we'd love to see it. And if you haven't got a lorry? Come along anyway. Whether you remember these vehicles working first time around, grew up around transport, or simply enjoy seeing old machinery back on the road, everyone is welcome. Please remember that the event takes place on private premises within a working industrial area, so we ask everyone attending to follow the directions of our marshals and treat the site and surrounding businesses with respect.

Raising money for Prost8 UK

As with our previous events, we'll once again be raising money for Prost8 UK. Prost8 campaigns for better prostate cancer screening, earlier diagnosis and greater access to less-invasive treatment options, as well as helping to fund focal therapy equipment for NHS hospitals. The support shown for Prost8 at previous Meets has been fantastic, and every donation made on the day helps us turn a gathering of old lorries into something that can make a genuine difference.

Please Remember – This Is a Public Road

Although The Meet Down on Number 7 is an organised event, please remember that it takes place on a public road and working industrial area.

Please take care at all times and be aware of moving vehicles, uneven surfaces, kerbs, potholes and other everyday road or site hazards. Classic and vintage vehicles may also be moving around the event area, particularly during the morning arrival period and again as vehicles begin to leave.

Please follow any instructions given by our marshals and do not assume the road is closed to normal traffic.

We especially ask parents and guardians to keep children under close supervision around the vehicles and roadway. Some of the lorries have very limited visibility around them, so please give any vehicle that is manoeuvring plenty of room.

We want everyone to enjoy the day, so please use common sense, stay aware of your surroundings and take extra care when walking around the event.

Getting to The Meet Down on Number 7

Main event postcode

County Truck Services – NG4 2JW

County Truck Services is the main event hub, but The Meet Down on Number 7 stretches along Private Road No. 7, with the lorries parked along the road and across the frontages of businesses who have generously allowed us to use their space.

Bringing a lorry?

Please arrive between 8:30am and 9:30am so we can get the lorries parked before visitors start arriving.

As you come onto Private Road No. 7, look out for our lorry parking marshals around LEEC. They will direct you to your parking position along Number 7. Please don't worry about finding your own space — follow the marshals and they'll get you parked up.

Visiting from 10am?

Because we want to get as many lorries as possible parked along Number 7, visitor car parking on the event road will be very limited.

We recommend parking on:

  • Private Road No. 8
  • Ken Wilkins Print's car park

Look out for the marshals in GREEN

When you arrive, look out for our marshals wearing GREEN at the end of Private Road No. 7.

They'll be there from visitor opening time to help direct you towards the available visitor parking and point you towards the event. If you're not sure where to go — find someone in GREEN!

Disabled / limited-mobility visitors

If you or someone travelling with you has mobility difficulties, please speak to one of the marshals in green when you arrive. We'll do our very best to accommodate you and get you parked as close to the event as we reasonably can.

Please take care

Private Road No. 7 remains a working industrial road. Please be aware of moving vehicles and the usual hazards associated with an industrial estate. Please follow the marshals' instructions, keep children supervised and take care when walking around the lorries.
